Heroes of The Storm is Entering Next Phase of Technical Alpha

Like all Blizzard games, Heroes of The Storm has caused a lot of fuss. Now Blizzard has announced that in the coming weeks the game will be entering the next phase of Technical Alpha.

Since the game is still in “deep development”, the game will have many changes prior to the launch. Blizzard is not only creating new features, but also reviewing what they’ve already got. In the past months, they’ve overhauled the UI, introduced new heroes, new skins and they still have a lot of plans in store.

The main goal for the Technical Alpha is to help them better examine how their infrastructure and tech will function across a much broader spectrum of machines and connection types. What’s more, the external Alpha Testers help the developers take a closer look at their hardware needs so that they can avoid future server crashes and overloads. At first, the scale of testing is planned to be relatively small and restricted, after a while Blizzard plans to expand the testing once it makes sense from a development perspective.

This phase of testing is very critical for any game and Blizzard encourages players to give feedback, so that they can fine-tune the game’s features and try to balance the game better prior to releasing the game to a wider public.

Blizzard noted that they know that players around the world are excited to help them test the game and stated that the next major patch will begin the Technical Alpha invite process for players outside of the United States!

These upcoming phases of testing will allow opted-in players from North America, Europe, Latin America, South East Asia, Australia, and New Zealand. During the upcoming phase of testing, Blizzard will continue to use the English client for all applicable regions until our fully localized clients are ready.

Everyone can opt-in for the Technical Alpha in their Battle.net Account Beta Profile page. To find out more about the game, visit the official site here.
